Selecting a Control Group

After selecting a goal, you can now select a control group, which is the opposite of the goal you have selected, such as an undesired goal.

Selecting a Goal of Your Control Group

  1. Click Select a goal...

  2. Select an option from the drop-down list. Options displayed depend on the data sources you are connected to.

  1. In this example, select Hubspot Deals.

Naming Your Goal or Control Group

  1. Upon selecting the goal, the Name field appears and the Select Time Dimension field is populated by a default selection, which you can modify. Selecting the Time Dimension is further described in the next few sections.
  1. In the Name field, enter a name for your goal. In this example, we named the goal "Unqualified".

Filtering the Goal of Your Control Group

This feature filters the goal of your control group.

  1. Click + filter found on the upper right corner of the Select Control Group box.
    Note: You can use the Filter feature as many times as you want to refine your data.

  2. Click in the filter by field to select a property.

  3. Select an option from the drop-down list. Options displayed depend on the data sources you are connected to and the goal you have selected.

Note: To search for a property in a long list, type in a keyword in the field to filter the drop-down options.

  1. In this example, we select deal_stage.

  2. Upon selecting a property, two more fields appear on the right. Select an operator by clicking on the middle field to display drop-down options.

Note: Drop-down options displayed in the middle and right fields depend on the property selected in the left field.

  1. In this example, we show the middle field and right field options when deal_stage is selected in the left field.
  1. In this example, we select the equals operator in the middle field.
  1. In this example, we select Closed lost & Not qualified in the left field.

Selecting a Time Dimension

When you select the goal of your control group (refer to step 1), the Select Time Dimension field is automatically populated. You can, however, modify the selection by clicking on it and selecting from the drop-down options.

In this example, we will select close_date.

Note: To search for a property in a long list, type in a keyword in the field to filter the drop-down options.
